(1888PressRelease) September 20, 2016 – Abu Dhabi, UAE – Film lovers in the UAE are invited to participate in The Smovies’ one-minute film challenge around the Infiniti Q30, aptly called “#BornToChallenge” and to create their content using video camera or their mobile phone cameras.
The Smovies, a filmmaking platform established and managed by BrandMoxie, a leading marketing agency in the UAE, in collaboration with their strategic partner VOX Cinemas, is partnering for this season with the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi, twofour54, Infiniti of Arabian Automobiles Company in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, and Tempo magazine.
The grand prize winner will get the ultimate exposure opportunity – to get their film screened across VOX Cinemas in the UAE – in addition to a cash prize of Dh 5000 from Infiniti of Arabian Automobiles Company in Dubai.

The competition’s theme is #BornToChallenge which lends itself to a wide range of creative interpretations, at both personal and professional levels, and coincides with Infiniti’s launch of the Q30 in Dubai. The competition will run for a month, and will be followed by an award ceremony.
Jury members will include Emirati directors Majid Al Ansari and Nujoom Al Ghanem, Award Winning Emirati Actor Mansoor Al Feeli as well as filmmaking instructors, veterans David Moore, Greg Unrau, Dahlia Mahmoud, Mohannad al Bakri, Michelle Nickelson, Imad Deiratany, and Nathalie Garino from Infiniti of Arabian Automobiles Company in Dubai.

The Smovies is a short film creation platform that has been launched by BrandMoxie, a leading media group in the UAE involved in marketing, publishing and events. The Smovies is intended to provide an opportunity for emerging filmmakers, by offering recognition and exposure through the platform.
